Promptmkr Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Promptmkr handles information across the Promptmkr website, the Promptmkr Companion browser extension, and related services. For details specific to the Companion extension, see the Companion Privacy Policy. For billing and cancellations, see the Refund Policy.

1. Who operates Promptmkr

Promptmkr is operated by Brainmkr LLC. You can reach us for privacy questions at jon@promptmkr.com.

2. What this policy covers

This policy applies to:

• promptmkr.com and all related public pages.
• Foundry (the Promptmkr prompt builder).
• Prompt Grader.
• My Prompts and My Skills.
• The Promptmkr Companion browser extension.
• Promptmkr APIs and any related Promptmkr services.

3. Information you provide

• Email address — used for magic-link sign-in, account access, and account-related communication.
• Prompts and prompt content — text you paste, build, grade, improve, refine, save, or export inside Promptmkr or the Companion extension.
• Business profile and context fields — optional information you enter to personalize prompt building (for example, business name, audience, offer, tone preferences).
• Payment and customer details — handled by Stripe. We receive a limited customer record (such as email, subscription status, and last four digits of the card) but do not store full card numbers.
• Support messages — content of emails or other messages you send us.

4. Information collected automatically

• Basic usage, device, and browser information (such as user agent and approximate locale).
• Product interaction events (for example, which page or feature was opened) to understand product usage.
• Analytics and performance data via Vercel Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights.
• IP address and request metadata, used for security, rate-limiting, and abuse prevention.

5. How Promptmkr uses information

We use the information described above to:

• Provide and improve Promptmkr and its features.
• Grade, improve, refine, build, save, and export prompts that you create or submit.
• Maintain accounts, sign-in, and subscriptions.
• Prevent abuse, enforce rate limits, and protect the service.
• Troubleshoot issues and respond to support requests.
• Understand how features are used so we can make them better.
• Comply with legal obligations.

6. AI processing and model providers

Promptmkr uses third-party AI model providers (for example, Anthropic and OpenAI) to generate prompt grades, improved prompts, refined prompts, and other AI-generated output. When you use a feature that calls an AI model, the prompt text and related context you submitted are forwarded to that provider so it can return the requested output. The provider's handling of that text is governed by its own terms and privacy policies.

Please do not submit sensitive personal information, confidential information, passwords, credentials, private keys, protected health information, financial account numbers, or anything you do not have the right to share. Treat prompts as content that will be processed by AI providers.

Promptmkr does not intentionally sell user prompt content to advertisers.

7. Payments

Subscriptions and payments are processed by Stripe. Promptmkr does not store full payment card numbers. Stripe handles payment, billing, tax, fraud prevention, and subscription data under its own terms and privacy policy. We receive enough information from Stripe to associate a subscription with your Promptmkr account (such as email, subscription status, and limited card metadata).

8. Promptmkr Companion browser extension

The Promptmkr Companion extension reads prompt text from supported AI chat pages only when you interact with the extension (for example, opening the popup or clicking Grade / Improve / Add more logic / Simplify). It uses that prompt text to grade, improve, refine, copy, insert, or send prompts to Promptmkr at your request.

The extension is limited to the supported sites declared in its manifest — it does not claim support for, or run on, unsupported sites. The Companion does not sell browsing data and does not track you across the web.

9. Cookies and local storage

Promptmkr uses cookies, localStorage, and sessionStorage in the browser for:

• Sign-in and session state.
• Saved UI state (such as open panels and recent selections).
• Prompt hand-off between pages (for example, from Grader to Foundry).
• Extension popup state and user preferences.
• Analytics and performance measurement.

The Companion extension uses chrome.storage.local to store temporary drafts and recent results so they survive popup closes. This local state can be cleared at any time from chrome://extensions.

10. Sharing

We share information only with:

• Service providers that help us run Promptmkr — including hosting (Vercel), database and key-value storage (Upstash), analytics and performance (Vercel Analytics, Vercel Speed Insights), transactional email (Resend), payments (Stripe), and AI model providers (Anthropic, OpenAI).
• Legal, compliance, and security parties when required to respond to lawful requests, enforce our terms, or protect Promptmkr, our users, or the public.

Promptmkr does not sell personal data to advertisers.

11. Retention

• Account and subscription records are retained for as long as needed to provide the service and to satisfy legal, accounting, and tax obligations.
• Saved prompts and skills are retained until you delete them, or until your account is deleted.
• Temporary extension and hand-off state stored locally in your browser may expire automatically (the Companion's local state, for example, expires after a short period).
• Operational logs are retained for a limited period for security, debugging, and abuse prevention.

12. Your choices

• You choose what prompt content to submit. Avoid sensitive information.
• You can edit or delete saved prompts and skills wherever the Promptmkr UI provides that option.
• You can manage or cancel your subscription via the Stripe customer portal (linked from inside Promptmkr).
• You can contact jon@promptmkr.com with privacy questions or to request deletion of your account and associated data.

13. Children

Promptmkr is not intended for children under 13, or for anyone not old enough to lawfully use online services in their jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect personal information from such users.

14. International users and EEA / UK

Promptmkr is operated from the United States. If you use Promptmkr from outside the U.S., you understand that your information may be processed in the United States and in other countries where our service providers operate.

If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, object to or restrict processing of, and receive a portable copy of your personal information, subject to applicable law. To exercise these rights, contact jon@promptmkr.com.

15. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The effective date shown at the top of this page reflects the most recent update. Material changes will be communicated by updating that date and, when appropriate, with additional notice inside Promptmkr.
